Windows result in the use of significant amounts of energy in buildings due to solar gain in temperate weather during daylight periods and loss of heat in intemperate weather during periods of low light intensity. “Windows are currently responsible for about 30% of building heating and cooling loads,” leading to the annual waste of an estimated four quadrillion BTU (Arasteh et. al., 2006.  Zero Energy Windows, Proceedings of the 2006 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings ).  Our window products help protect buildings from undesirable energy shifts by  increasing their energy efficiency.
